The fishing season on our lake opens for bass, pike, and walleye on Saturday, May 6. Panfishing is open year-round. The musky season opens on Saturday, May 27. Our docks and boats will be in the water by May 2. We plan on giving the main dock a fresh coat of paint before it is launched.
It is turning out to be an early spring. Trees are leafing out, flowers are blooming, frogs are active, and birds are building nests.
I installed new porcelain tile on the floors of bathrooms in units 3 and 4. They look good (see photo below). We also have new and cute curtains in the bedrooms of units 1 and 2. My sister made the curtains. The kitchen table in unit 1 has a new top; it's clean and smooth!
We've ordered new sweatshirts that we will be offering for sale. They will be green and have a loon design on the front.
The DNR stocked 120 muskies from our docks on September 19. The fish were 10-13 inches long.
Glen Baugh caught and released a 4 pound bass in our bay on September 22.
Tyler Jackson established a new record length bass for our lake with a 22 inch, 5.5-pounder he caught on August 6 using a spinner bait. Good job Tyler!
Trent Jackson, 10-years old, had a great week of fishing on the Yellow River in August--he caught a 34-inch pike and a 34-inch musky! Way to go!
I established a new record bluegill for our lake on August 16 with a 9 and 3/16-incher. I caught the beauty in 15 feet of water on a live crawler.
We harvested wild rice on area lakes and again are offering it for sale.
